I found the ants eating the rubber off my Teva sandals which I store in a shoe rack on my balcony. The ants were gnawing away at the blue part of the sandal that says "Teva." I have no idea why these ants would want to chew rubber. They came in to my house
before to gnaw at the rubber grommets on my stereo speakers. Weird.
Hey, I've really enjoyed following the progress of your last year's ant farm. Is there any chance you might start raising another colony? :-)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I haven't really thought about starting another ant farm in the short term though I will continue to follow their activity on my balcony. Seeing them in their natural environment is much better than trying to keep them cooped up in an ant farm. Thanks again for writing!
